Ingredients

  • 1 batch pre-made pizza dough or homemade dough if preferred
  • 1 cup mozzarella cheese shredded
  • 0.5 cup parmesan cheese optional, for extra flavor
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil for brushing the crust
  • to taste salt and pepper

Equipment

  • Baking sheet
  • Parchment paper
  • Cooking brush
  • Knife
  • Cutting Board

Method

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and roll out the pizza dough into a large circle or rectangle. Brush the edges with olive oil to help the crust turn golden and crisp.
  2. Mix the minced garlic with a little olive oil and evenly spread it over the surface of the dough. Sprinkle with salt and pepper to season the base.
  3. Spread the shredded mozzarella evenly over the pizza, leaving a border around the edges for the crust. Add a sprinkle of parmesan on top if desired for extra flavor.
  4. Bake the pizza in the preheated oven until the cheese is bubbling and the crust is golden, about 12-15 minutes.
  5. Once baked, remove the pizza from the oven and let it cool slightly so the cheese sets just enough to handle. Using a knife, cut the mozzarella into thin strips that resemble bandages.
  6. Create the mummy wrap by carefully arranging the mozzarella strips across the top of the pizza in a crisscross and wrapping pattern, leaving space for the face if desired.
  7. Return the assembled pizza to the oven and bake for an additional 3-5 minutes, until the mozzarella strips slightly melt and the mummy looks animated and spooky.
  8. Remove the pizza from the oven and let it cool just a bit before slicing. Serve with a creepy side or enjoy as a fun, festive main dish.

Notes

Feel free to add small olive eyes or other decorations to give your mummy more character!
